You may guess that planning an elopement such as this one involved a web of lies to family, friends and co-workers. You would be correct. Perhaps the lie I feel the most guilt about revolves around our marriage license.
We didn't plan our wedding too far in advance. However, when my parents came to visit us in May, we already knew we were planning to secretly marry. In fact, we stealthily picked up our marriage license JUST before picking them up from the airport.
